There are some things you can’t take a chance with and the Corvette brakes are one of them. You tend to take your brakes for granted and it’s possible that while you are racing with your buddies you’ll get used to slightly decreased performance of your brakes as time goes by. Therefore, over a period of time, you may start adjusting with the reduced efficiency of your brakes. This is positively dangerous and you must never let this happen. Irrespective of the urgency, you can’t afford any delay in the maintenance of your brakes. The best thing to do is to religiously have your brakes checked by the garage and trust them to do them up on a periodic basis.
Corvette brakes may require the brake fluid and the brake fluid test strips in a routine manner. Try to change the Corvette brake pads at the earliest. Go for the Hawk HPS for the rear and the GM brake pads for the front. These are both ceramic brake pads and these cause reduced black dust build up on the wheels. Order the brake accessories such as the brake pad cover set, the line lock kit and the brake caliper bracket or go for the powder-coated exchange offer. You may also order a bleeder too of the DIY variety.
If you are thinking of overhauling Corvette brakes then there are some excellent high performance brake packages on offer that include the front and rear drilled and slotted rotors, the brake fluid and the stainless steel brake lines.
